The Hollywood film '2012' is based on the Mayan calendar which predicts that the end of the world will come the same year.

  • The only thing remarkable about the formation of Israel is that it offset the eschatological play book of fear mongerers and con men such as Tim Lahaye. Revelation speaks nothing of the formation of Israel but likely her downfall at the hand of the Gentiles in 70 AD by Emperor Titus. Were it not for the current hold on Jerusalem the Jews role in modern Apocalyptic literature would be reduced only to their mention concerning the 144,000 and as "Christ slayers".

  • the reason the Mayan calendar ends on 2012 they ran out of room

    on the stone O.O

  • We've lived with over 2,000 years of God nonsense, what's 3 more years of Mayan nonsense? Actually, living with nonsense is something Christians seem to be good at.

  • My friend if you think 1948 Israel isn't significant you need to dig a little deeper into your Bible. The 1948 Israel was one of the the most significant prophetic events to ever occur. Israel as a nation is an everlasting covenant as God told Abraham in the book of Genesis. Replacement theology sets you up to be cursed. As God said "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you."

  • What a loser he is....

Of course the formation of the state of Israel back in 1948 is significant and that event is key in end times prophecy.
