You are slowing down too much for the half time change... see if this makes sense: when you change to half-time, don't change your feel until the first snare hit. Focus on that first snare hit on beat 3.. then fall of into half-time. The transition is psyching you out of your groove and you are slowing down. Play THRU the transition = 1E+A 2E+A THREE!
