United Breaks Guitars by Dave Carroll is the ultimate customer NON-service payback.
Ever been knocked back on an insurance claim? Or refused warranty?
For most of us, we persist for a while and then give up.
Not Dave Carroll. He was so angry, and reminiscent of that brilliant 1976 film Network, with Aussie actor Peter Finch, he decided to do something about it. And something creative at that. A Viral payback campaign using his own skills as a musician, to write three songs, produce them and also produce a professional video and post it to YouTube.
Brilliant!
This video is a quick look at the strategy Dave Carroll has used to make a statement against United Airlines and to promote his music and his band. It look at how he has leveraged the viral capacity by utilysing YouTube and Twitter to get his PR message out fast.

Only one bad mark in a decent review of Dave Carroll's plight. Dave is Canadian not American ;)

Good job. I'm going to watch this again, I have stayed away from Twitter but this video helps.

Isn't that how the internet works for dummies? But the 'Bye for now, cheery pi' saved it at the last.

You've got to talk much, much faster if you want people to listen to what you have to say, instead of falling asleep...

I'm glad I watched this. Twitter doesn't look very intuitive, it took way too long for the poster to find what he was looking for. Think I'll pass on it until the improve the design.
