Compared to Godspell....Andrew Lloyd Weber & his JC Superstar is "amateur hour":)
Superstar is all sizzle & no steak; Godspell is moving & deeply personal - understandable to even little children!
Godspell shows by its staying power & the wide use of its music that simplicity is the best way to communicate a message.
It preaches a wonderful sermon - without being "preachy":)
Simply beautiful! Thanks for posting the entire movie!

@morwenmur Finally!!! Thank you so much for saying that. I never understood why people that like Godspell compare the two, and with such hatred toward JCS. I like the music in both.

they should make a series of movies that describe all the books of the bible! i know it would help me understand them easier:) It would be very entertaining also:)

thank you so much for posting this on here. i love this movie so much.

This movie conveys joy and the true spirit of Christianity, can't you just enjoy it without comparing it to JCS? Enough already.

This was my all time favorite musical to perform in high school. I wish the movie had We Beseech Thee, that was the song I did :)

HHmmm...No resurrection scene in this or JCS.

@Dawnpool93 It's because the script was written that way. The only person that's named is Jesus. If you look at the cast, you'll see that Merril was played by Merril Jackson; Robin played by Robin, etc. The script was written so that it could be changed and made contemporary and personal for each audience. I've seen many stage versions and it IS constantly updating. This is just the movie version. It isn't always the same actor playing both on stage. This cast has 10 people, others have more.

Part 6 is not missing. The movie is in a playlist so that the parts are easy to find and in order, try using that.
