Mal Sharpe's "Big Money in Jazz" has been doing it's thing at the "No Name" for so many years, I've lost count. I'm blowing my 1921 Conn "C" soprano (Hey, that's me!) and Mal's over there on the slide trombone (Hey, that's him!). Other intrepid band members include: Professor Si Perkoff (piano), Laurence Hyman (cornet), Chuck Metcalf (bass), Carmen Cansino (drums). The tune is "Keepin' Out Of Mischief Now". • No Secret. I use the stock mpc and a clarinet reed. I opened the lay a little to get more sound... the rest is all chops. BTW, thanks for the accolade... cheers!

  • I'm a huge Scobey fan! My Grandfather was Jack Buck. My Father and I are still playing dixieland today. My Dad still plays the horn that Scobey gave him!

    Take care, Jammin Joe Buck

  • Wow, great job on C coprano. I also have a Conn C soprano, but have a hard time keeping it tune with itself. What's your secret? What mpc do you use?
