The Smash Brothers and Virt play CANYON.MID (yes, the one from Windows 98) Live at Magfest 7. Holy crap.

UPDATE: (Dom) Woah. I had no idea about the origins of this piece, from biglionmusic.com (Virt's site): "Its full title is "Trip Through the Grand Canyon", and it was written by George Stone of Passport Designs."

There's even a comment from him in the comments here:

  • Wow, you guys must be really young to think canyon.mid was from Windows 98. :( I remember discovering it in Windows 3.1.

  • I think lack of a sound card back in the day was the cause of my bad memory. Or I deleted the file for space or something on a 12MB hard drive. : )

  • hahaha, what, is this one of the demo midis that came packaged with windows 98?

  • yep : )

  • @Kargaroc286 It was buried in Windows/Media. You could find it if you searched the entire compupter for *.mid files.

  • Originally titled as "Trip Through the Grand Canyon", a George Stone's composition.

  • @ThrilloVanHouten I would have, because I am an uber geek!

  • YAAAAAAY JAKE KAUFMAN!!! <3

  • This is epic.

  • it came with all windows releases right up till windows XP... including windows 2k. check C:\Windows\media and it will be there!

  • I've NEVER seen a Windows 98 (or Windows 95) install with Canyon.MID. Perhaps most people upgraded Windows 3.1 to Windows 95, and then to Windows 98 and it kept the canyon.mid file from the previous install.

  • @Zolofto Congratulations, but that doesn't make you the average twenty-year-old.
