James Dobson / Prop 8 Protest - Opening Remarks

Outside of the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago, IL on November, 8 2008. This protest was organized by the Gay Liberation Network and Andy Thayer.

Close to a thousand protest against James Dobson's induction into the the Museum of Broadcast Communication's Radio Hall of Fame. Dobson is an open sexist, racist, and anti-gay bigot and founder of Focus on the Family. He donated $800,000 to support California's Proposition 8 to take away homosexuals' right to marry.

I was at that protest last night. It was fantastic and I'm glad I went. Dobson is a major bigot and is even anti human if he wants to refuse rights to people

You can't let the people vote on the inalienable rights of human beings. Do look up the word **INALIENABLE** and try to grasp its meaning.

Do you think slavery was abolished by referendum? And how about giving women the right to vote? Or lifting the ban on interracial marriage? Nope, none of those decisions were taken by voters, because each and every time voters would have sided with bigotry.

Dobson and the Mormons and the Knights of Columbus are bigots--AND THEY WILL BE DEFEATED.

James Dobson is only telling it like it is from the word of God ..Mr Dobson does not hate the sinner he hates the sin ..God doesnt condone two men having sex in the anal as being normal bahavior .that is why it is so gross to this man and others who know it is just wrong .

The more people stand up and make statements like this, themore likely they are to be heard and accepted. You don't affect change by sitting in the corner lamenting. It's your right to raise your voice and say you disagree with what you're witnessing. I'm glad people have got the courage to protest garbage scow legislation like Proposition 8.

But in the words of Martin Luther King Jr. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." And Coretta Scott King said, "I appeal to everyone who believes in Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream to make room at the table of brotherhood and sisterhood for lesbian and gay people."..."Gay and lesbian people have families, and their families should have legal protection, whether by marriage or civil union."

Color and sexual orientation are both immutable characteristics.

they need to focus on there own family and leave us alone and stop spreading there hate mongring ways. if they want to live by the bible they can. but they need not shove it down our throats and then need not stop us from getting equal rights. these people are hypocrites. and back bitters. i am tired of these right wingers. i am bisexual and proud of who i am. i did not choose this i was born this way. if u don't like who i am oh well i don't care
