These were the best years in HB, going to surf theatre then skateboarding all night. Dogtown came after this era and these were not the best skaters in the video at the time just trick riders. The stories I could tell about HB in the 70's and 80's would blow the Dogtown movie away. HB was the party,surf and skate capital back then!
0:18 is JG, John G was founder of the original Soul Bowl and built many different style of ramps before anyone else!!!

It's a shame that these guys (Page, Howell, etc) have been victimized by the mythology of the ZBoys and are rarely give the credit they are due.

wow, i looked at this video. i grew up in HB from 71-77 and i skated that part under the pier. the first trick was getting over the pot hole, or jumping into the parking lot above the hole. this is awsome finding this footage.
