Barbara Follet (Equalities Minister) and Trevor Phillips (Head Of Commission For Racial Equality) enjoying a kick-about with Local Leagues footballs.

The Equalities Minister, Barbara Follet, and the Head Of Commission for Racial Equality, Trevor Phillips, were in Birmingham to see first-hand the groundbreaking work of Local Leagues Ltd a not-for-profit organisation rejuvenating sport in the community.

The first port of call was to Heath Mount School where Local Leagues have had a very long presence. The duo were met by the Director of Local Leagues Mazar Dad, Local Leagues Sports Development Supervisors, Sports Development Coaches, and the Head of the school, Mrs Najma Chaudhury.

The visit coincided with sports coaching sessions that take place with the school. First off, there was a coaching session within the grounds of the school and then another session in the schools hall with a chance to meet the children.

Of the Local Leagues project, Barbara Follet said the project was a really good project we need more like this across the country.
