@h0b0ch1c this song specifically might be a bit of a tough sell for what I was claiming-though some of that is there. maybe "boss inside," "breaking locks," "you get so lucky" "bed of prayer"... anyway, cheers to you no matter what--and to the major miracle of a civil disagreement on a youtube message board. -rh

@h0b0ch1c but I think his music is largely about the problem you describe. this is a lesser song on a great album--and yeah--you're right, he does "try too hard" in the video. but I think that's what he's getting at. its gonna sound pretentious, but I think what it's really "about" is the "inauthentic." human evil, boredom, the appetites, Satanism, self-loathing, put in a cute package and waved in front of everyone's faces so close they can't recognize it.

I love these reallife Adam Green vids. Buddy Bradley too, is just him walking around acting funny and doing little dances. I just dig it when the looks on the faces of the people he walks past are sincere.
