Film#5
I recently got the Lego Castle Advent Calendar. I loved the Jester Minifig and just had the urge to do something with it.

I do believe this is the first brickfilm to feature the Jester and Maid from this set !

A big thank you to Emma Execute for providing the voice line for the maid.

There was no chroma keying used in this film, all the effects are done using masking.

If you want to know what software I used or where I got certain sound effects or special effects, please read the end credits. All the hardware and software information is there for you to read.

The music is by Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel a track called 'The Jester' from their 1997 CD 'Pastorale' - If you have enjoyed this music please go and buy the Album on iTunes it really is a beautiful relaxing album.

If you want to learn how to make your own Brick Films, please visit the best site there is on the subject:

The forums there are full of friendly and helpful people with loads of advice to share. The website itself is still under construction at this time, but will hopefully be up and running soon.

  • how did u make him flip?

  • @totakeke1234 A technique called masking, you keep the camera absolutely still take a shot of the set without the minifig then put the minifig into the set, the minifig is on an arm to the right of it and he rotates around the arm. You then put each frame into Photoshop with the 'clean set shot' as a layer underneath. Then you erase out the arm in each frame leaving the clean set shot exposed and hey presto, no arm is visible anymore.

  • what kind of music?

  • @Sekowiak Hi All the music details are in the Info of the film above :-)

  • what kind of music

  • @Sekowiak - I searched the internet for 'Jester Music' and I found this peice. It is typical of Medieval Folk music. I tried to trace the owners of the music with no joy. But then they found my video and liked it. So they graciously allowed me to keep the video on YouTube. Lovely people.

  • I'm a jester fanatic and I stumbled across this video and found it delightful! Thanks for making it! I was not familiar with the music of Tingstad and Rumbel before now, so I am grateful that you used it. I am purchasing some of their music online right now (starting with "Pastorale" of course!). Thanks!
