Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey near Carlton, Ore., includes many rare Willamette Valley habitats. It is one of the first major pieces of wildlife habitat that will be protected under a new agreement the state of Oregon and the Bonneville Power Administration expect to sign Oct. 22. The agreement will fund a conservation easement to permanently protect 1,310 acres of forest and other habitat on Abbey lands.
