Each year on a Saturday near the Summer Solstice there is a parade in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. It has long been a tradition for naked bicyclists to streak the parade. As you might suspect, this is illegal, even in Seattle.
One year, probably of an election, the police announced that they were going to seriously crack down and sounded like they meant it.
The usual suspects appeared in theatrical body suits that clothed them fully but gave the appearance of being very hairy, saggy, gross bodies.
The police have not threatened any action since.
This one will be interesting to fans of RollerSport.TV because some of the skaters you've watched on our channel as well as at trackside join the frolic.
Let's have a contest to see who can name each famous roller derby rollergirl appearing in the video. Please respond with your answers as comments.
Speaking of RollerSport.TV, the site is alive and well. The videos aren't being posted on YouTube any more. At this time they are being hosted on Viddler.com, but that is subject to change. The best place to find our videos is on our site www.RollerSport.TV
There is an RSS feed on the site, so new additions are always available to you.
And speaking of new additions. Check out our new video quality. On the video viewer on the home page click the full screen button in the upper right (four arrows). This is what most of our bouts will look like in the future.
The Viddler hosted videos allow comments to be viewed and added by viewers while watching the video.
The entire Twentieth Annual Fremont Solstice Parade can be seen at http://www.viddler.com/explore/WandasWanders/videos/7/
A somewhat longer version of the Streakers in a much better video format can be seen at:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/WandasWanders/videos/6/
Exactly this video hosted on Viddler is at:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/WandasWanders/videos/9
which will be handy for comparison between Viddloer and YouTube.
The parade starts with the two young ladies (Pegacorn Pivots) holding the banner.
Since it is illegal to be nude in public in Seattle, a parade permit would not be issued for anything including public nudity.
And I like it just this way.

They are part of the parade, not streakers.

Actually, they are not part of the official parade.
Cheers
