When he joined he was fooled as many of us were by government lies. The war IS illegal and I support him and the constitution. If you do'nt you are a war criminal.He should be vindicated!!!The bush administration should be charged with treason and numerous war crimes! Such ignorance of the American people is baffeling to me. My only possible Understanding of that ignorance is the fear the 911 attack istilled in the people blinded them.Iraq ha d nothing to do with 911. WAKE UP AMERICA!

I am a specialist in the army. Have deployed twice and take it from me. The war in Iraq is bull. I will always give Lt. Watada my respect and salute. He is the prime example of BRAVERY. One of the army 7 values. I salute you Sir.

The invasion of Iraq was warranted from the time Hussein violated the terms of the 1991 cease-fire. That fact alone gave us the right to invade.

He doesn't agree with the war, yet he joins up. Good Idea. And for the rest of you who agree with him for refusing to go to Iraq, what you are saying is that the rest of the U.S. Forces can use that excuse and leave. That would leave Iraq in a worse state than it already is. Another Good Idea!

I have nothing but contempt for Watada. He joined while the 2003 war was well underway, and he knew perfectly well what military service involved. The war violates no laws and was supported by Congress. At the very least he should be dismissed and imprisoned.

Our unwarranted invasion of Iraq violated international law. The incompetent congress supported it based on the lies they were told. Watada will be acquitted if he is ever tried again.

LT Watada is doing his sworn duty as an officer,refusing illegal orders and protecting his troops' bodies, psyches, and lives. Iraq Veterans Against the War, Veterans for Peace,veterans and current military from WWII to the present know LT Watada has a backbone of steel. He's fighting to care for the Constitution, Nuremberg, and the troops he swore to care for. All the stupid comments in this thread display just how ignorant their writers are of military law and real courage.
