  • (Part 2). Martins to have a wonderful Fishman pickup systems that, in my opinion, beat Taylor's Expression System by far. Breedlove Guitars, tonewise, is literally a mix between a Martin and a Taylor, however I do feel that playability, tone, and electronics fall short to the Taylor and Martin. I ended up choosing the GPCPA4 over the three because it surprised me the most. It had the tone and the power of a Martin, yet had the playability of a Taylor. It was a "magnet" for my fingers.

  • I debated between Taylor 214ce, a Breedlove Atlas, and a Martin GPCPA4. Literally took me a lot of weeks to find make a decision. No doubt, each guitar is a beautiful work of art. However, each has it's own perks and flaws. Taylors have beautiful highs but do lack that powerful bass that people ask for, also the playability. Taylor's make your fingers feel like their feeling silk! Martins carry that signature bass, tone, and volume, but do lack in playability and in highs. (Part 1)

  • ya it's actually a gloss finish.but i don't think that's it. i think think the european spruce top is really sensitive to even slight humidity changes . i 've owned many guitars over the last 50 years but never had one that was this sensitive. but it sounds brilliant if the humidity it really low! still love playing it tho!

  • @mambowman it's satin finished and made of wood... everything made of wood changes with humidity.

  • bought one of these a couple of months ago. love playing it. a thing i'm finding peculiar about this guitar tho is that the tone of the guitar seems to change depending on the humidity conditions. if its humid it seems to lose the trebles and have more of a muddy sound. i'm curious if any one else finds this with this guitar.

  • Martin are affraid that a lot of its customers are going over to Taylor Guitars the end result is the Martin GPCPA series of guitars in a hope to get their customers back, will it work only time will tell.

  • to bad i was born an embecile not to be able to play like this....makes guitar sing..did i spell it wrong.

  • @yekshemesh4alig I think that's more the mic. But then again I think Taylors are tinny, so to each their own.

  • Good guitar, although I'd rather get a Taylor 114CE or 214CE, looks and sounds better to my ears. This sounds a bit too muffled and the headstock in too plain.
