Staffordshire Bikesafe 2008 at the Winking Man

A look at Staffordshire Bikesafe 2008, on Sunday 11th May 2008. My thanks go to the 3 officers who let me film them. They are now using the Bmw R1200RT. Please remember that the position of the Police Motorcycles on the road are taking into account the rider in front, and me right behind them....

4Kam, the system is good, the actual recording unit fits in your pocket, the buttons are too small and not great if you need glasses or wear gloves. You also ned to buy better editing software.

I am using Windows movie maker, as most people are on broadband, the size of the files can be quite large. Will that help ?

The camera bike compromised the police bike a couple of times, and failed to keep his distance. Police bike and other rider were well above average in skills. Hope camera bike rider gets better at it, good though.

Thanks for the comments. I will try to get better, but on that Sunday I was enjoying myself. I used to be a Police Instructor with Staffordshire Police, so used to riding close to students. The footage obtained was put onto DVD and given to the officers as a thank you. Let me know how you get on with the system you were testing.

I think credits need to go out to all counties that have taken up bikesafe and also to all the people that have taken the bikesafe course. It is a very good course and is delivered by a great group of fellow bikers. Just remember, a policeman on a bike is out there every single day, unlike you and me. Thumbs up to 'em.

Chill, I've done 2 in Leicestershire and learned loads, quicker by being smoother etc. Plod are human and the guys I spent time with were all bikers off the job.

one can only try. Thats the only problem with 4kam the kits come complete and I think at the time reasonable, the software is low quality.
