my daughter was diagnosed at 9 months by FAR the hardest thing....she went DKA and was life flighted to a childrens hospital also. SHe is now 15 motnhs old

im 14 and got diagnosed when i was 12. at first i denied it and told anyone. i couldnt stand it. my fear of needles only made it worse. your daughter makes me want to be grateful i got it later in life and makes me want to try harder to control the disease. shes lucky to have parents like you :)

My son has had type 1 Diabetes for a year now, he is 14, the day and days to follow when he was first diagnosed I can only describe as utter devastation, I think I didn't sleep or eat for a couple of weeks . A year on and life is so much better, yes it is never going to go away but we make every day count, he loves sports and even had the highest P.E test results at school!!! I have seen parents of diabetic children say, oh he needs to own this and take care of hjmself but as parents it is our job to make sure our children are safe. I love your attitude towards your type 1 child. my son is 13 and type 1 and he is learning and does much himself but we watch over and make sure he is safe as best we can because we love him more than life. Im Tayla, i was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when i was 5 years old, im now 14....and i have had a fun go lucky life, sometimes ive ended up in hospital but its better for me to be in hospital then to be suffering so dont get scared if Naomi goes to hospital, its the best option to make her full of life again, but if shes old enough can you tell her i said "You need to fight the disease, dont let it defeat you!" goodluck.
