  • Love the MD-11. Flew on OH-LGF back in 2007 and was so pleased to finally one before they all become freighters!!!

  • I flew on the OH-LGF too in January of 2009 :). I was returning back to New York.

  • @CE750 oohh ok

  • @ghettoperson257 well, right about at that point, the pilot likely began to rotate the nose off the ground, but you have to understand on "heavy" type jumbo jets like this, and others, there is a good bit of time and distance traveled between nose rotation, and main gear getting airborne, maybe 1000' and 5-8 seconds... so it was likely able to fly at this point but needed time to get airborne.

  • my problem is... i'm scared to fly :((((

  • at 0:46 it looked like the plane already had enough speed to airborne

  • terrific video

  • Love it, better then sex!

  • Awesome bird! I hope she flies for many many years! I want to fly with an MD-11 someday :)

  • @rags015 MD-11's (while they were still in production) could be equipped with three engine types -- 2 PW variants (PW4460 & PW4462) & 1 GE variant (GE CF6-80C2D1F). The primary differences between the 2 PW variants is the PW4460 produces 60000lbs of thrust & the PW4462 produces 62000lbs of thrust. Hope this helps! :)

  • Finnair = best!

  • I loved flying on L1011's, DC-10's and MD11's all fantastic planes in their own right.
