Precisely what I think every time I hear this song... while I miss his guitar these days, I'm happy he's taken to the keys in earnest the past few years. Whatever wrist/hand trouble he may have, I have a feeling it's as much about wanting to mix things up a bit as anything else.

Yeah, the piano is real loose, which this whole album is which is why I like it so. It is transitional, as you say. He's somewhere moving away for "serious" folk but not to rock n' roll yet. Which is another reason I like it so!

great example of his style; fluid,elusive and transitional. He couldnt play it the same way twice.Listen to the the piano rather than the words, youll see (hear?) what I mean.
