A scene from Heartbeat the TV drama set in Yorkshire 1960
The music extract is from the Michael Chapman 1969 debut LP Rainmaker. Song title "You Say". Beautiful.

And so I'm saying Goodbye
Although God knows I don't want to.
And so I'm saying Goodbye
I just don't know
When it will be
That I see you.

Oh! It might be when the springtime does come.
Then we can walk on the seashore.
And It might be when the winds they blow cold
And I can lay
In your warmth
Once more.

And It might be when the rain starts to fall
We ride on trains through the mountains.
And It might be when there's no rain at all.
And we can lay
All the day
In the sunshine.

You say you know when your baby will be born
You say that that's why I'm leaving
You say that nothing ever touches me at all
And I don't know
What it is
To be broken.

  • I am a HUGE "Heartbeat" fan from Canada. My sister likes "The Royal" better. It's such a great show. The characters are real, not like the crap on US television, where everyone's hair is perfect...sorry to hear HB is ending!!!

  • Poor Rob... He loved Helen so much.

  • i cant believe helen died i cried at that clip i cant believe rob is gone too but maybe a fresh start was best too many memories in aidensfield
