  • I'm lucky to have Professor Betz as the small ensemble instructor at my community college. Despite saying "I can't play drums", he always manages to lay down an awesome groove whenever our drummer is absent. He also helps our bass player in coming up with effective lines to the pieces we play. He's sat down at the piano once or twice and showed me chords and better voicings I could use for comping.

Betz isn't just an amazing guitarist, he knows all facets of jazz like it's his life and soul.

  • i was lucky enough to have betz as my personal guitar teacher when i was only 9 years old. he taught me the early lessons of improvisation that would mold me into the guitarist i am today. truly remarkable teacher and musician

  • Brian Betz is a leader, visionary, and virtuoso. At the young age of 29 he is shaking the very foundations of the jazz world and passing on his incredible skills to youngins like myself. All hail Brian Betz.
