I simply couldn't agree more with Mr. Planettan, though I fear of saying it on a forum because of all the blind patriotism that is characteristic of Americans. The U.S. has been hampering the world and living FAR beyong its means for FAR too long. On the flipside, Russia, India, China, all of the so-called "third world" countries (what a disgusting, insulting name I might add) have had their patience, have suffered enough. It's time for the rest of the world to tell the U.S. fuck off.

yes, but you have to exam why they want to sell out. in this day and age everyone wants to live prosperously. if russia has a strong economic system they would not want to sell out to nato or eu, especially the smaller nations. they want to be protected by someone strong; someone with the hardware and software.

The immediate effect of this deal will be modrate, BUT in the long term - 10..15 years it will be HUGE. The long term aim for both countries is REAL COOPERATION IN DEVELOPING NEW TECHNOLOGIES. BOTH need it badly cos new techs costs HUGE resourses and west REJECTS to cooperate REALLY with both Russia and China. West want Russia to be source of raw materials, China to be "chip labour". Both Russia and China try hard to avoid such a prospect.
So, the deal IMHO is about that.
