Two songs from the 1991 album "Medicine Man". This version of Blackfoot was composed of Rickey Medlocke (Vocals and Guitar), Gunner Ross (Drums), Neal Casal (Guitars) and Rikki Mayr (Bass). The instrumental "Navarre" fades into a great song called "Soldier Blue"....so if you don't like the first part of the video, stick around to about the 1:55 mark to hear the second selection.

  • I have Medicine Man and this song is not on it. Explanation please.

  • @nathanwulf : The only thing I can think is that you may have a bootleg version or some other "unauthorized version". The original release had both songs on it.

  • Can someone please post Guitar Slingers?

  • @meyer412 Posted it three times and YouTube has blocked it all three times. Also, made me take down a few other vids............so it's hit or miss on whether a particular song gets to stay up or not. This one....apparently no problem...but yet another song from the same CD (i.e. GSS&D) doesn't survive the legal eagles for more than a day or two.

  • Beautiful One!

  • Ya know, Ricky doesn't have to leave Skynyrd to do another Blackfoot album.

Common sense tells you, just record a new Blackfoot album with no pressure, no hassle with Greg, Charlie, call up Tommy Aldridge to fill in for Jakson Spires and do one hell of an album with this kind of production on down time from Skynyrd. Heck, take it one step further and have a double headlining bill with both bands.

  • Is there a live version of this out there?

  • @WVFreebyrd Absolutely right, WV, I got this album the moment it came out and both were on it. And that leads me to say THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!! for posting this. I have not been able to find these songs anywhere for nearly twenty years since I lost this CD in a move and sort of forgot about it for a while. Thanks!

  • OK I've looked into this now - there appear to be two releases of the album, one was released in 1990, which is the version I have with only 7 songs, and was a Uk release.

The 1991 version has Navarro and Soldier Blue on it and is on the Nalli label.

    off to ebay...
