  • I did about 30fps with jpeg compress but without audio. I will upload the video result soon.

  • @TomStoneMemphis, now that is impressive!

    Keep me posted!

  • @luciodjs The cam video was on my old mobile phone and that phone no longer exist :(, but that framerate was because of SSD1926 which has in built JPEG deoceder and MMC card reader. So PIC32 just drived that SSD IC to read the data from MMC card and put it to JPEG decoder, from decoder it was directly displayed to LCD. I used FAT32 on MMC card with thousends of files, each jpg file was one picture of video. No other files can be on MMC card becouse of lags occured during card reading/decoding.

  • Interesting. I am not familiar with the SD1926 capabilities, but it would be interesting to see if your method could be applied to an AVI with JPEG encoding of individual frames instead of the individual jpg files orde...

AVIs are quite simple to handle, want to give it a try?

  • Another amazing demo!

    This software library is from...?

Anyway, 15 fps with a 80Mhz RISC is really a nice result.

Intel 486 at 80Mh was capable to show near 2 fps, devouring tons of energy!

  • Not a library yet. For now, it is more of a hack I would say! :o )

  • nice

  • hey thank you for writting the "Programming 32-bit Microcontrollers in C" Book! It really helps me!

  • I will get to document it some day, I promise! No, it did not fit in the PIC32 book. There is too much advanced stuff required to get here. XVID and pretty much any other codec would be too hard on an 80MHz processor without any additional hw assistance.

  • Lucio I loved your book on PIC32

  • Hello,

Where I can find details on this project. I have your PIC32 book but it does not has this topic. I hope the avi file is an uncompressed avi file and NOT DivX or Xvid coded. In that case too I remember the frames are JPEG compressed.

  • Wow, i didn't expect to find your channel, i have read some of your books in my school library.

Thank you for all, you are better teacher than those of my school!
