The fan on my Gateway M-2626u got really noisy, and the WD-40 didn't work, so here I am trying graphite oil. The fan is now as quiet as it was when the computer was shipped. SUCCESS!

Also, if you're wondering, I did make the music myself.

  • @ritzmalheur18 Aw, shucks! Thanks!

  • Hello, a big thanks from lithuania. I used some kind of industrial thick oil that my dad use on trucks, When i saw the video i knew that i should do that. now it goes as good as ever. by the way because my laptop is mostly standing in one place i removed the back plate covering main items and so my laptop has amazing cooling

  • @XBC125 Yeah, pretty much any good grease should do the trick. You might want to use speedfan to compare your CPU temp with and without the cover, though. The cases are generally designed to get high-efficiency airflow right across the stuff that needs it. If it's not caked with dust, cooling should *theoretically* be better with the cover on.

  • Yes i'm using speedfan rpm's are good and my temperatures are low. Games are running flawlessly. When it was hot GTA EFLC was frame by frame. Very bad. Now its great. I have Asus N61vn bought it used and got the fan "surprise" and now its all good.

  • I knew I had to do something with my fan.

  • @Cornasto Comments like these always make my day better! Glad it helped :)

  • wow...you are a lifesaver. My laptop fan has been noisy every now and then for quite a while but the last couple of days it became unbearable, because it just wouldn't stop buzzing.

After cleaning it up and using some sewing machine oil, you can hardly the fan!!!

    Cheers!!!
