Ferruccio Tagliavini-Beniamino Gigli, both excellent well respected artists. At one time it was rumored that Tagliavini was the illegitimate son of Gigli. Not true of course. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Tagliavini during rehearsals and after performances here in Philadelphia in the 60's. He was truly a warm wonderful person with a great sense of humor. Even though a light lyric tenor, he could project the softest note to the last row of the balcony.

Attualmente non esiste un tenore della tecnica e qualità e dolcezza come Tagliavini. Tutti quelli che vorrebbere cantare (sto pensando a "professionisti" come Villazon, Domingo e tutto la compagnia) dovrebbere orientarsi alle registrazioni di un artista eccellentissimo come era Ferruccio Tagliavini.
