Bowhunting public land can be tough. October and pre-rut can be worse if your looking for a trophy buck. The older deer become reclusive and nocturnal. Hunting pressure picks up. A thorough understanding of your area gained through scouting can help you continue to encounter whitetail deer while on stand.

im sure the deer you claim youve seen as a huge main frame 8 and then 2 years later he was a huge main frame 10. it's 99.9% not the same deer. this im sure of. try trail cams im sure youll be suprised at how many nice bucks come around in november chasing or seeking does. not just one big buck.

Possibly. He has a very unique rack,as demonstrated by the shed I find in episode IV if not the same deer, at least the same genetics. As far as nice deer, they are few and far between on the public lands I hunt. Trail Cam? I doubt it would be there when I went to get it back. Not into tossing money away like that.Same deer or not, I`d love to run an arrow through his chest, but after this season, I`m wondering if he`s still around at all. Best I saw this year 2 and 1/2 8.

I saw the most bucks ive ever saw in a season this huntin season,i hunted pretty hard,i shot all the law will allow me in my county, with my bow. Looks like ill b having deer steak for awhile.

Workin hard on that! Slow start this year as far as buck sightings go, guess that means I`ll just have to spend more time in the woods! Such a horrible fate 8^)
