It's not a jet engine but a stepping motor accelerating smoothly from 0 to 9375 rpm. Digital resonance damping eliminates all resonances from whole speed range. In this test motor operates in open-loop and attached encoder is not in use.

The drive is Granite Devices VSD-E operating at 65VDC.

  • Hi,What's the driver IC at power stage you used?

  • It is our own controller chip with advanced stepper control functions.

We start selling the controller chip when development is fully finished.

  • with 25600 steps/rev, that means you have 25600/200 different duty cycles... which is 128. So do you have a 128 different clock sources or are you using just one PWM... Thats some amazing speed. Love the video

  • @n00448198 Yes the drive uses sinusoidal waveform with 512 points. That generates 25600 steps/rev.

  • Nice... How does it work? Back EMF detection?

  • @pilleyuppo23 No Back EMF detection, just very fast current control of coils to rotate the motor.

  • Wow... i did not know that was possible, nice wind up sound though.

  • @granitedevices Care if I ask a question?

  • at 9375RPM what torque this motor has??

  • Woow thatz really cool a Stepper Motor with encoder attached

  • step motor! imposibla..

  • WOW ! ! !

  • That's one big encoder on the back there! What's the coil inductance and chopper input voltage?

  • My first thought when seeing how awesome this was, was to post "Touch it!" as my comment. Once I got to 0:18 I realized that great minds think alike hahaha
