The Mick Bastards Part I

Unfortunately the sound quality of this show is a bit challenged. The camera mic distorted a lot. But it was a great memory of several musician friends coming together for a night of music to pay tribute to Marc Bolan and T-REX. The performance was filmed in the Winter of 2005 at the EARL in the East Atlanta Village. The band, jokingly called "The Mick Bastards," featured Rick Richards on guitar who famously plays with The Georgia Satellites and who has also played with Izzy Stradlin and the Juju Hounds as well as all the slide guitar work on Guns 'n' Roses' "Lies" album. The band also featured Paul Mc Quillian who formerly played guitar for Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star as well as the blues rock band "The Blood Vessels" with Brent Hinds of Mastodon and many others such as Drill Team and The Sweetloves. On bass was Steve McPeaks who has played with too many bands to count really. But some of these bands include "Fiend without a Face" with Brent Hinds of Mastodon as well as "Hot August Nights." On Drums was Kelly Sanford of the famous Atlanta metal band "Super X-13." And lastly, Jason Floyd Hatcher, formerly of Hex Error and other bands such as Barbarosa sang lead vocals and also played guitar. Also it should be noted that Jason, Paul and Steve are also part of the Alice Cooper Tribute Band, "Mr. Nice Guy." Special thanks to Beth Staufenberg for filming this set and providing me the video.
