  • HA!! track day isnt race day.. any true race/track vet will tell you that... no one won here!!

  • Someone give the rider of the 1098 the "twist of the wrist II" dvd to watch. He just can't turn that thing!

Beautiful bike that SS, like most ducatis from 90s and afterward are, except maybe mine (multistrada 1100). I would sure like to own one but I have to carry a passenger and to travel sometimes.

  • Haveing rode a 1098 and 900ss, It was just the rider, the 1098 is a very capable bike in the corners with phenominal brakes and awsome torque off the corners. The weigth is I believe 171kg. I have to say, I hate it when people put the supersport range down because of its lack of power, It was only intended for twisty road heaven and has such a lovely power characteristics to it. I am considering a 1098s and believe I will be slower on it in the turns for the fact I wouldn't want to hurt it.

  • damn i love the 1198s

  • The older air-cooled supersport Duc's seem to be great value, simple design, quick enough for 90% of us and full of flavour. The 1098 is too much bike for the majority of us. Love both of them but there's something nostalgically beautiful about a Ducati air-cooler :)

  • As a proud owner of an 800 Supersport it's good to see someone get maximum potential out of the bike. The bake has so much character I love nothing more than sliding the bike around the twisties here in the Texas Hill Country. Can't wait to get it to the track!

  • you were significantly faster out of almost every turn you took, against both bikes.

    good riding.

just goes to show you how a) how important the rider is, rather than the machine, and b) how lovely the SS's are in the twisty shit!

that's why we ride duc's, isnt' it? for ducatisti, the twisties are the reason to ride motorcycles, period.

after all, anybody can just roll on the throttle.

  • The Desmodue range is vastly underrated - you get an awful lot of bike for your buck (and it never leaks coolant!) A nice reliable old fashioned engine...and their sound has more character too.

  • You should have rode his bike and seen how quick you could have been. Nice riding, Thats what i like about my 900ss on twisty roads. Its just so nice to see lots of faster bikes that dont seem to get away, maybe a little on the straights.

  • Nice job. I hope you gave him hell in the pits about this.
