What I've heard Marc Laimon was treated poorly by the Gracies when he was training there. He was a paying student who was made to clean the toilet, mop the floor, etc. The Gracies were also holding off some techniques to the American students thus suppressing their growth in the sports. I was not there, but that's what I've heard from seasoned grapplers. I admire Marc for having the tenacity to earned his black belt, and his dedication towards his students. He has produced many champions.
