@birinbirinbirin the term "indie" was used back then to describe bands that were on independent record labels - lots of different styles/genres were considered indie in the 80's and 90's because they were not on a mainstream record label - so i am using the term correctly

that U2 one is maybe "mysterious ways" in "Achtung Baby ". i love that 'cause it was similar to "Fallin' Down"...no, anyway, those days i was fond of these 'indie dance'-like songs.

maybe not their best song, but damn, definitely one of them. I always thought U2 ripped off that guitar riff.. I have a Dedicated sampler with this version on it, plus tracks by Spacemen 3, Cranes and the first recordings of Spiritualized. I love this stuff.

you mean "Freefall" EP ver.?...so, i agree with you. that's more fuzzy and garagey. i like that more than this extra-produced "Whirlpool" version.
