Pocketknife by Boker Plus Elegance. Newton Martin is a young knifemaker from Texas, known for rugged fixed blades, who recently started designing and making folding knives as well. His model "Nopal" got its name from the Texan word for the cactus plant, whose leaves replicate the shape of the closed knife. The stable Wharncliffe blade has a chisel grind, offering extraordinary strength and sharpness. The straight cutting edge allows extremely precise cuts and perfect tip control. Steel liner and textured G-10 scales in combination with the deep finger choils and notches provide a secure grip and excellent ergonomics. The blade is made of 440C stainless steel, satin finished, and locks with a sturdy liner lock mechanism. Blade length: 2 1/8". Overall length: 5 1/2". Weight: 3 oz.

  • Great little pocket blade! Got one, and it's like a Razor Blade with a comfy little 3 Finger handle. Just a Heads up to my Left-Handed Brutha's and Sista's.....for a leftie, the chisel grind works to your advantage. ; )

  • @ZombieOrchestra Glad you got it!

  • Since this blade is so easy to sharpen, will it quickly become dull again?

  • @andris4 It depends on the steel and grind geometry. Chisel grind is easy to sharpen because you spend less time sharpening the flat side of the blade. It will dull quicker than convex grind but it is sharper. Your question seems simple but it is complex. You will need to understand the difference in steel composition and blade geometry.

  • @oromoto Thank Bro, great review. I really enjoy my Nopal. Cheers

  • @oromoto Thank you! I have been looking to buy this knife myself, and the chisel grind seems okey :)

  • @elbowroomtube Thank you for watching them :)

  • @oromoto Thanks oromoto. I appreciate your recommendation and I enjoy your reviews. You cover all of the critical points of knife reviewing with well thought out commentary. Very helpful.

  • @elbowroomtube I rarely carry knives for EDC purpose (mostly defensive purpose) But I highly recommend it if all you need is small/light knife to do office tasks. This one is very offensiveless.

  • Are you still carrying this Nopal? Do you find the bladeshape useful; effective.

Overall would you recommend for EDC?
