That, was brilliant... Like everyone else has said, I'm usually so reluctant to check out covers that users have posted, but I just recently fell in love with this song, and you nailed it, despite all the layering the original has. I'm horribly envious of so much talent. Don't give up what is obviously a gratifying passion. -R.

Great job, excellent cover of a unique song!

It's the four bar rhythmic phrasing that made this song so interesting to me, the vocal phrasing is great too. It's too bad all the rest of the shins' stuff is rubbish.

Very clean cover. Surgical and soulful at the same time. It's perfect for practicing the bass part against.

Great cover dude! I'm always a little afraid to listen to covers on you tube.. like I'm gonna be embarrassed just sitting here if the singer is aweful... I was wincing as I clicked "play", especially with a song with a bit of an irregular beat and style like "Sea Legs"..... Awesome work I really enjoyed it :) -Jake

@Delllosh All I could really tell you is that I play it in a drop D. Unfortunately I play entirely by ear and am pretty much musically illiterate. Wish I could be more help. Sorry.

@kindablue28 If you don't want people to reproduce your style of playing just say so. No one "musically illiterate" can play that way without knowing basic chords, not to mention the fact you're playing in "drop D". That talks about literacy. Nice performance by the way.

Well I have been playing guitar since I was 14 so I've picked up a few things here and there, but I guess what I mean by "illiterate" is that I have no formal training and have an extremely limited technical musical vocabulary.

Oh my God. Marry me. Well, I'm already married, but damn. That was amazing. The first time I heard "Sea Legs," I was taken back to when I was 13 and heard "Comfortably Numb" for the first time: I put my head between my stereo speakers and listened for hours. Now I'm 36 and having the same reaction to "Sea Legs." Your cover is UNBELIEVABLE.

@alice0427 Thank you very much for your kind words! I had very much the same reaction when I first heard this song. I just had to cover it. I'm glad you feel I did it justice. Take care!! ;)
