  • @thind720

mustangs dont have a 4.5 dumbass.

  • 5.4 and 4.6's are the same damn motor except the 5.4 has a longer stroke...they use the same cams, exhaust, and pretty much everything except some internals due to the longer stroke...they will sound identical....especially since the have the same firing order and general timing

  • @mrrosales94 Depends....I had a 1998 V-6 car and a 2000 GT, I stripped the V-6 down to the shell and transferred the Entire drive line (engine, tranny, rear end), suspension, and interior. I paid 2000 for the GT, and 1000 for the V-6. Just matters what you are trying to do, I just wanted a nice project car. To boot, the PI 4.6 had only 4200 miles on it :) just have to shop around.

  • @Viper2114 but its cheaper to swap to a 5.4 than it is to a 4.6 in my point of view considering i got a v6

  • @ShopforCFcom well yeah...when you have a longer stroke usually the block is different lol. As would it affect those specific parts fore mentioned. But I never actually noticed an exhaust difference. Exception being what Header/Manifold, mid-pipe (X-pipe, H-pipe), catted or non, and catback is being used.

  • @Viper2114 Nope, the 5.4 has a deeper tone to the exhaust. The 5.4 has a different block, front timing cover and intake manifold. Yes, they use the same cams, exhaust manifolds and the accessories that bolt to the engine itself.

  • @IDontHateOnCars Go to mustangworld . com and look up the Cobra R's article

  • @IDontHateOnCars John Coletti's concern was the 5.4 Aluminum block at the time wouldn't meet the durability requirements for hard driving. (obviously proven wrong with the Ford GT's 5.4 and 5.0 Cammer motors)

  • @IDontHateOnCars nope Iron

  • @Viper2114 2000 cobra r was aluminum block.

  • @IDontHateOnCars Usually yeah, the 5.4's will usually come from a truck/van/expedition (unless you find a Navigator (5.4 4valve motor)). The cast on all of these blocks are essentially the same (only real difference being where they were cast(romeo or windsor)). The 2v family motors are pretty much entirely Iron blocks, the only aluminum blocks are in the 4 valve configuration cars (96-2001 Cobra, mach 1's and ford gt ), and the new 5.0's. Even the 2000 Cobra R and 03-04's have iron blocks.
