The Great Movie Ride Montage - Disney

We've always been a fan of Disney and Movies. So it was only natural that We'd be suckers for the Great Movie Ride at the Hollywood Studios. We loved the audio animatronics, but the highlight for us was always the 3 minute movie montage at the end. We were always intrigued, even as they swapped out some films in favor of more recent ones that need some promotion. The best we could find on the internet was some High Definition renderings of a hand-held video camera so decided we would re-create this 126 film highlight from scratch. At our site we went even further. Enjoy.

I always love going on this ride because it just reminds me of how good movies once were and how unemotional and dull most of them are now. All people care about now are the effects, there is no real story that will capture the people's heart like all of these greats. Also, what is the first song that plays in the montage? I have been trying to find it for the longest time.

This is the reason the ride is so amazing, this montage. The part with Tara's theme from Gone With the Wind always gives me goosebumps. I love this.

I hope you're giving a shout-out to Chuck Workman, quite possibly the greatest montage creator of the modern era, who designed the original film. He's also responsible for a knockout montage collaboration with Stomp! at the 1996 Academy Awards and a terrific clip episode of "Mad About You" that's keyed to quick lines of dialogue from the show. He's an absolute genius.
