I'm a long time fan of this massively talented woman. This album came out right around the time my man had a potential diagnosis of lung cancer, causing us to run off to elope in Jamaica. When we came home we decided that this was our "wedding song." The diagnosis was false and now we slow dance around the kitchen to this song every anniversary. It transports us instantly back to our time in Jamaica. Love you, Patty.

This song is so great. I love the words, the music and the way she sings it. Only Patty Griffin can sing it like this. "Beautiful"!!

So sad for your loss. Your recall of the events is so touching to me.

Love Patty Griffin, HATE these videos. Horrible quality at best.

I lost my doggie, Lily, a few years ago at the age of 18. I play this song whenever I want to remember her sweetness and carefree companionship. She died in our favorite park on a totally heavenly day...blue skies, puffy clouds, just the two of us waiting for her final dr's appointment, which was not necessary as she left from here to there amidst God's beauty and my tears. "The Lord gives, the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord!" Thank you, Patty, for this most perfect song.

It takes only one singer to make me feel like this one does. and ohh that voice!! Here is the tinest little lady singing out like a GREAT BIG DARK LADY (if you know what i mean)
I'm gonna go to FYE and order everything she ever done. RIGH NOW!!

I think it's ironic that you said this and then she released a gospel album immediatly after :D!

Love this woman. The CD is awesome 'Children Running Through'. She is such a tiny sparrow of a woman - like Edith Piaf - and out comes this mighty voice. Beautiful song that makes me think of the simplest pleasures in life,

Thanks so much for your comment!
I hope she will continue to write inspiring songs such as these.
I've heard that she would'nt mind having a "gospel-size" voice - probably because some of her songs tend to be larger than herself!
But there again, i think like her more as the sparrow of a woman that she is!
