Do you understand why old pochmann swaps two corners and two edges at a time? It's because the 3x3 has dependence between corners and edges and can't simply swap two edges alone or two corners alone. The 2x3x3 however, can. No need to screw with edges when solving corners!

It works fine, but if you really want diagonal you can just add B2 D' B2 to the beginning and B2 D B2 to the end. Hope this helps!
