THIS IS ONE OF THOSE RARE MOMENTS IN WHICH I FEEL PROUD TO BE ITALIAN!

Youtube world, remember one thing: Italy is Roberto Benigni, not Silvio Berlusconi.

I am Italian and i lived in Vergaio, near Benigni's family, unfortunately they are both dead. He is an actor, a real Comic, every Italian knows that, he make us laugh with his simplicity. He can easily tell about "Italian truth" making us laugh and think. Benigni is one of the few sunlights in Italy after Berlusconi's darkness!

WTF are they laughing when Roberto says "they gave me the best gift of the life, the poverty"? Isn't true? IT IS!!

I live abroad and everytime I wanna be proud of being italian, Instead of saying: pasta, pizza and ciao bella, I just say "Roberto Benigni" and I can be proud of my country! GRAZIE ROBERTO!

I like the movie. But, this is one of the worst acting Oscars ever awarded. The closest competition: Grace Kelly in '54's "The Country Girl"; Julie Andrews in '64's "Mary Poppins"; Lee Marvin in '65's "Cat Ballou"; Katharine Hepburn in '67's "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?"; Cliff Robertson in '68's "Charley"; John Wayne in '69's "True Grit"; Helen Hayes in '70's "Airport"; Henry Fonda in '81's "On Golden Pond"; Nicole Kidman in 2000's "The Hours"; and Sandra Bullock in 09's "The Blind Side".
