In the Netherlands you are only allowed to lane split if there is a Traffic congestion where the other vehicles drive maxmimum of 30 km/hour and you are only allowed to overtake with a 10 km/h difference.

i'm a rider in LA, and split lanes too, but the video above is SO dangerously stupid. I never split lanes when traffic is moving faster than like 30mph, much less splitting on the freeway going ... what? 70mph? you can see the rider nearly got sided by cars, not seeing him because he's coming so fast. Mad skillz, but still a very dumb thing to do.
