  • WHAT DID MIKE POWELL SAY????

  • Mike Powell said to him ''welcome to the club'' as in the 'club' for world record holders in Athletics/Track and Field.....was a nice gesture, showing respect for your fellow athlete especially when you know how they feel to have reached such heights in achievement yourself

  • Hard to believe this is only his 6th furthest jump, and 11th if you include his wind-aided efforts...

    Crazy.

  • Yeah, I'd be well pissed off with a 17.98..

  • @camtheman3x6

Mike Powell probably said something about knowing how it feels to break a record close to a barrier, but not breaking the barrier (Powell broke Baemons 8.90m record in the long jump, but didn't break the 9m barrier; Edwards broke Banks' 17.97m record in the triple jump, but didn't break the 18m barrier (at that time)).

  • I'm thinking the same thing! WHAT DID MIKE POWELL SAY??
