I love durian. You did pay a lot though. Even durian imported in the US doesn't cost that much. It smells worse when it's really ripe. Slightly underripe isn't as strong smelling. Your experience is similar to all the durian I've ever had though... it's not anywhere near as strong tasting as it smells.

mmm... Singapore don't grow durian, hence the exorbitant cost..~
Drop by to Malaysian part of Borneo sometimes (Sabah and Sarawak)...
We've got more strange fruits for you to sample (eg; Tarap, Bambangan, etc)
