Brock McIntosh speaks at Speaking Truth to Power: a permanent state of war

Specialist Brock McIntosh was one of the speakers at the event Speaking Truth to Power: a permanent state of war in Asheville, NC on April 9, 2011.

His views are his own and do not represent those of the Army National Guard or any other branch of the United States military.

Brock is a military policeman in the Army National Guard. He enlisted in May 2006 and graduated as the Distinguished Honor Graduate for his company's Basic/AIT Training cycle. He deployed to Afghanistan from November 2008 to August 2009, participating in base defense, security patrols, humanitarian aid missions and Afghan National Police mentor training.

Following his deployment home, Brock joined as a spokesperson for Veterans for Rethinking Afghanistan, participating in panels, interviews and meetings with Congressional, State Department and White House officials.

He became active in Iraq Veterans Against the War, assisting with speaking events and IVAW's Operation Recovery: a campaign to stop the deployment of traumatized troops. He received nonviolence and organizing training through the Highlander Folk School, SmartMeme, the Ruckus Society, the Midwest Academy and the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, where he was certified as a Kingian Nonviolence Trainer. He is currently an intern at Win Without War with a focus on the Veteran's Trust Fund. He is applying for conscientious objector status.

It's good advice to listen to other veterans speak out. I have the pleasure of knowing dozens of veterans against the war and of listening to them in public and in confidence, including Mike. He's very bright and I love his passion, and talking philosophy with him, though I make the correction that he's not an Afghanistan veteran.

I agree that he probably was turning against the Afghanistan war, a decision which would have likely been sealed with his planned meeting with Noam Chomsky after his return, however I haven't seen explicit evidence that he was against this war. What evidence there might have been in his journal was set on fire by his unit, alone with his ACUs and IBA vest/plates.

The Tillmans are personal heroes of mine. What I love about them is their After-Action-Review-style of patriotism. Instead of assuming their country is flawless, they are not afraid to identify weaknesses and how to strengthen them in pursuit of flawlessness. The Tillmans are a family who readily express in explicit language their discontent for, in the words of Pat’s father, “shameless bullshit”, and actively struggle against it.

Nevertheless, we both do feel that the 9/11 Truth Commission was extremely flawed and that there probably were pieces of information pertaining to the event hidden from the public, though probably not the planning or execution of 9/11. There are many other CIA, FBI, and other intelligence officers speaking out against the wars, who have risked or lost their careers, but none of the ones I know of are convinced of a false flag operation.

Thanks for the comments Mike. Though I have seen all the videos pertaining to the 9/11 truth campaign, it's true that I haven't delved deeper into that arena. However, I have done serious study of the background leading up to 9/11, and I'm not convinced that it was engineered by the US. You mentioned Ray McGovern, a good friend, and we've talked about this issue before. He too is not convinced it was a false flag operation.

Brock should consider that Pat Tillman was killed in Afghanistan, but not before he began developing views very opposed to Washington's. He and Kevin Tillman both came to realize that the war in/on Afghanstan was a lie, that Washington stated lies for so-called justification(s).

And Brock should also listen to Afghanistan and Iraq war veteran Mike Prysner, who's made excellent anti-war-on-terror speeches. And other vets of these wars and who've turned against these have also well spoken out.

The "New Pearl Harbor" was plotted by neocons of the US, and it's what 9/11 is. The proof for this is in official US govt documents, PNAC being one of them.

Ray McGovern, who's been supporting the demand for a new and real 9/11 investigation for years, stated in an interview that I believe was on TheRealNews (Youtube channel for therealnews[dot]com) during August around 2 or 3 years ago, or maybe it was on TheAlexJonesChannel (Youtube) ; well, he stated that Dick Cheney is evidently a character who could've been in the plotting of 9/11, and this "New Pearl Harbor" was plotted starting in the mid-1990s. And Cheney is that kind of character.
