I don't think Paddy Milner changed the meter. Listening to this and Bruebeck's original and the only difference I hear is the arrangement, not the meter.

Dunno what the fuss is about 4/4. It's an unusual arrangement. If I wanted to hear the recorded version I'd just put that on. The whole point of live music people... something new and different...
