@MNsurvivor i read something about h-1 steel paired with a fully serrated edge maintaing its cutting ability better then any other steel they have ever tested. why it is so good when serrated but not when plain edge i dont know ill have to look into it

@toejambfutbol By most states, you mean all but Kalifornia, right. LOL! I'm sure after the next election in California, it will be illegal to even say the word "gun" anymore.

H1 steel, while largely impervious to corrosion, does not hold an edge like most other steels commonly used by knifemakers.
Further, you are severely limiting yourself by carrying a knife with an intentionally blunted point. You may never think you'll need it, but at the very least consider carrying something that could be effectively used as a defensive weapon in an emergency.
I get that it looks cool, and I love Spyderco...but a knife is a tool. Carry one suited to the task.

Before you comment, you should actually watch the video. This knife does not have "an intentionally blunted point", that is a different version of the blade. And the H1 steel has been performing great for me. It may not be quite as lasting as VG10, but with every sharpening it also holds the edge longer, as it work hardens really well.
