The " Guitar Army ". These guys were so freakin great. It's to bad you don't hear their stuff on the radio as often as you hear Foreigner ( ? ) These guys not only wrote great songs, they KICKED ASS with the music as well.

A band who pretty much owned every musical evening that they were part of. If The Outlaws were opening for you, you had better be prepared to kick some serious ass or be forgotten!

Yeah, I was fortunate to have seen this lineup eight times in the late 70's and early 80's, and Billy always struck me as almost the anti-rock star. It must be a 'southern' thing, or just a sign of the times, but I don't ever remember any time when members of The Allman Brothers, Outlaws, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc. ever did anything but let their music do the talking. And, boy, did it talk...!!!

I've been an outlaws fan I guess from the beginning from 1977 and always loved these guys seen them many times with many acts. The most special time was at the NYS fair 09/2007 they opened up for Dickie Betts this was a great show and brought back many memories I was with my wife and son first time my 15 yr old son got to see a real southern rock band and he was blown away. I got to meet Dickie and shake his hand and said hello to hughie thomasson we lost him a month later RIP
