The Kentucky Library & Museum will host two senior exhibitions this year. Opening on April 17 is the Graduating Senior Art Exhibition, which will feature works from graduating visual art students. The exhibit will run through May 10. Featuring works from more than 30 graduating art students, there will be a variety of items on display, including: paintings, watercolors, works on paper, fiber arts, ceramics and sculptures.
The second senior exhibit will open April 25 and will feature work from interior design students' senior thesis projects. Students were asked to submit designs for a new Academic Complex building on the campus of WKU. There will be renderings and floor plans on display.
Each exhibit offers a unique opportunity for the community to view student work and for graduating seniors to display their work in a professional, community gallery space before graduating from college, something most collegiate art students do not have the opportunity to do. Students, faculty and museum staff will work together to curate the exhibit.
The 2008 Graduating Senior Exhibitions were made possible with support from the WKU Art Department, WKU Interior Design Department, WKU Libraries and Potter College of Arts & Letters.
