Please Check In http://streamingvids1.blogspot.com/ To Watch the Highlits FREE When TCU jumped on Baylor for a 21-3 first quarter lead, I think many realized the final score would be dictated by the Horned Frogs. A 45-10 final say as much and tells of a Baylor team that couldn't move the ball after scoring with ease in their first two game. Robert Griffin (16-26 160) did not have a great and in fact looked a step slow which may or may not have been the smothering defense of the Horned Frogs making it appear that way. The good news was it appeared that the Bears could have been effective running the ball, but that was an afterthought when trying to dig out of a big hole.

After not yielding a touchdown in their first two games, I think the Baylor defense was in a bit of shock with the ease in which TCU moved the ball. TCU scored on their first five possessions and Horned Frogs QB Andy Dalton completed his first eleven passes. After allowing 558 yards, it's tough to find positives except to say this happens against TCU.

A 30-13 loss to Northwestern was not surprising, but I think their opening day 17 point defeat at Texas surprised many people for how close it was and perhaps raised expectations a bit. I for one am confused because they beat North Texas by one in a game they certainly could have lost and I'm wondering what we'll see going forward. What I do know is that they won't be running the ball down people's throats and their alternating of three quarterbacks isn't scaring teams.

To say the Owls defense stopped Northwestern would be far from the truth, however their issues don't appear to be much different than last season's version. The bottom line is they would have a better chance at being successful if the offense limited turnovers and could establish a reasonable rushing attack to burn clock and keep this unit off the field.

I think Baylor has the edge in speed and should be able to move the ball. The key could be the production of Robert Griffin, maybe more so running the ball. The questions and goals for Rice are usually the same, in that avoiding turnovers and controlling the clock are keys on offense, while limiting big plays and getting stops when they have the opportunity are key on defense. Although the Owls have shown some improvement, I'm hesitant to say it's enough to get the job done against a Baylor team licking their wounds from their smack down with TCU.
