I want to jump into this conversation as well. In my opinion, Myspace lacks proper genre defining options.

On the other hand, I do agree they are Black Metal, except, more melodic. I can see why some would call it Death Metal though. They show significant resemblance to the Gothenburg style, perhaps closest to early In Flames & Edge Of Sanity to some extent.

But yes, all in all, they "were" Black Metal (Melodic), except on Reinkaos. Reinkaos was a Melodic Death Metal master piece.

@mTmFilms reinkaos is a shit album.did you notice there was a new line up for it,and shortly after the release and tour they broke up...if it was such a good album one would think they would have done many more.(maybe the lyrical themes were similar to previous albums,but i get into the music.not the lyrical stuff).

I agree, the style changed but that doesn't take away its greatness.You need to understand what was in Jon's head during that time. TRUE fans would know and agree that Reinkaos is an epic album because we understand Jon and Dissection. Some of us know the real purpose of the band.
