A Syriac is every Assyrian and every Assyrian is a Syriac as Syriac is in fact Syrian (which the Arabs of Syria stole) and Syrian is derived from Assyrian, proven facts. The Assyrians of the Syriac Orthodox Church still live in Mesopotamia as with all other Assyrians, although the Syriacs or Assyrians of the SOC live in northwestern Mesopotamia, Turabdin and Kamishli mostly etc.
